David Lane

I build software, and the teams that build it. Mostly for healthcare, from London.

I've run Fat Fish Digital since 2013. We design and build web and mobile products for organisations where getting it wrong has consequences: NHS trusts, health startups, the odd bank and law firm. More and more of that work has AI in it, which I studied at Sussex back when it was a niche subject.

I still take technology roles, permanently or for a few months, and Fat Fish still takes on build work. If what's actually wrong is a strategy, a supplier or a project, I'll look at that. Same for grants, investment and R&D tax.

Computer Science and AI at the University of Sussex, first class, in 2004, then straight into running my own businesses, starting with Bright AI, an early AI and mobile app agency. I also mentor Sussex graduates through the university's Global Mentoring Programme.
